CHEESY SHRIMPS

INGREDIENTS:

Set A:
250 grams large shrimps
Salt, to taste

Set B:
2 Tbsps. butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1 pc. medium-sized onion, sliced

Set C:
1/2 cup UFC Tamis Anghang Banana Catsup
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Grated cheese (The more, the better)

PROCEDURE:

A. Clean the shrimps. Place in a pan with a pinch of salt. Cover. No need to add water, as the shrimps will produce their own water as they cook. When the shrimps turn orange and the water dries up, the shrimps are done. Set aside.

B. In a separate pan, melt butter and sauté garlic until golden brown. Add onion and continue cooking.

C. Add cooked shrimps and UFC Tamis Anghang Banana Catsup, then season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir until catsup is incorporated into the shrimps. If more sauce is desired, add 2 Tbsps. water at this point.

D. Stir gently so you don’t deform the shrimps. Add 2 Tbsps. grated cheese. Stir. After 3 to 5 minutes, remove from heat. Arrange shrimps on a serving dish. Top with more grated cheese and parsley for garnish.

Rosana Desembrana Basco's Notes:
"I had to experiment with the sauce and play with ingredients until I got the right ingredients for its perfectly sweet sauce. The UFC Tamis Anghang Banana Catsup gave just the right blend of sweetness for the cheesy shrimp."

I discovered this recipe when my youngest child got admitted to the hospital. She was diagnosed with Dengue first stage. This viand was served as one of the meals, and my daughter liked it. When we got home, she remembered this ulam and asked me to cook it. I had to experiment with the sauce and play with ingredients until I got the right ingredients for its perfectly sweet sauce. The UFC Tamis Anghang Banana Catsup gave just the right blend of sweetness for the cheesy shrimp. Add the right amount of grated cheese to give it a harmonious sweet-salty taste.
