PORK BINAGOONGAN WITH BANANA CATSUP

INGREDIENTS:

Set A:
1 kg. pork liempo, cut -up
3 cups water
2 pcs. onion, sliced
1 Tbsp. UFC Whole Pepper

Set B:
5 cloves garlic
2 pcs. onion, sliced
3-4 pcs. tomatoes, sliced
500 grams bagoong alamang
1/2 cup vinegar
Sugar, to taste

Set C:
1 cup UFC Tamis Anghang Banana Catsup
2 cups UFC Fresh Selections Coconut Cream

PROCEDURE:

A. In a pan, boil pork with water, onion, and UFC Whole Pepper for 30 to 45 minutes or until pork is tender. Fry pork until golden brown, then set aside.

B. Sauté garlic, onion and tomatoes. Add bagoong alamang. Season with vinegar and sugar. Simmer for 10 minutes or until sauce is reduced.

C. Add coconut and simmer for 5 minutes. Put UFC Tamis Anghang Banana Catsup. Simmer until desired consistency. Serve with eggplant and okra.

Bakit binagoongan? Favorite kasi ‘yan lutuin ng father ko dati, kaya naging favorite namin talaga. Pero nung natuto na akong magluto, ako na mismo ang nag-develop ng recipe nito. Bakit gumagamit pa ‘kako ng kamatis kung may mas magandang alternative? Minsan kasi, ang mahal ng kamatis, kaya ginamitan ko ng banana catsup. Bukod sa mas sumarap, naging malapot pa ang texture ng niluto ko.
