Sweet And Sour Pork

The secret of any great sweet and sour pork is found in its sauce. It has the sour component from the vinegar playing against the sweet flavors from the sugar and catsup.

SWEET AND SOUR PORK

  • 250 grams Pork kasim, sliced thinly

  • 1 tsp Liquid Seasoning

  • 1 cup Water with 4 pieces ice cubes

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour

  • 2 cups Golden Fiesta Palm Oil

SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE

  • 2 Tbps Datu Puti Vinegar

  • ½ cup UFC Banana Catsup

  • ¼ cup Pineapple tidbits

  • ½ cup Water

  • ½ cup Brown Sugar

  • 2 tsp Cornstarch dissolved in 1  tablespoon water

  • 1 tsp Liquid Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp Golden Fiesta Palm Oil

  • 1 pc Onion, quartered

  • ½  pc Red bell pepper, seeded and cut  into triangles

  • ½  pc Green bell pepper, seeded and cut  into triangles

Preparation

    1Season pork kasim with Liquid Seasoning. Set aside for 30 minutes

  • 2Prepare the Sweet and Sour Sauce by heating Datu Puti Vinegar, UFC Banana Catsup, pineapple tidbits, water, brown sugar, Liquid Seasoning, and cornstarch water in a pan (A).

    3Boil until it thickens. Set aside

    4Dip pork in ice water then flour. Repeat two times.

    5Heat Golden Fiesta Palm Oil in a deep pot, and then fry pork until golden brown,  about 5 minutes.

    6In a separate pan, heat Golden Fiesta Palm Oil and sauté onion, red and green bell  peppers. Toss fried pork into the Sweet and Sour Pork Sauce until evenly coated.
