Beef Pares

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 kg beef kalitiran, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 pcs star anise
  • 1 tsp whole pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 8 cups water
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch, dissolved in 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp white onion, chopped [Soup]
  • 2 tbsp garlic, chopped [Soup]
  • 1/4 cup shrimp, chopped [Soup]
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce, to taste [Soup]
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper [Soup]
  • 4 cups chicken broth [Soup]
  • 2 pcs green onion, sliced [Soup]
  • 2 tbsp garlic, crushed and fried [Soup]

PROCEDURE:

1. Marinate beef in soy sauce and sugar overnight in the refrigerator.
2. Combine beef with remaining ingredients except cornstarch. Cover and simmer over low heat for 1 hour or until tender.
3. Add cornstarch. Simmer until thick.
