Chili Crab

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 kg alimango (large crabs)
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 2 tbsp garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger, sliced
  • 1 tbsp tanglad (white stalks), chopped
  • 1 pc small onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp red hot chili sauce
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce, Filipino style
  • 3/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp iodized salt
  • 1.5 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pc egg, beaten

PROCEDURE:

1. Clean and prepare crab. Set aside.
2. Heat oil. Sauté garlic, ginger, tanglad, and onion. Add hot chili sauce, tomato sauce, sweet chili sauce, and water. Cover, let it boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Add crab. Season with salt and sugar. Cover and simmer until cooked through, 10-15 minutes depending on the size of the crab.
4. Add egg and stir. Turn off heat. Serve.
