Korean Beef Stew

Korean food is fragrant, spicy and hearty. Enjoy this simple beef stew in the comfort of your home, made authentic with Asian touches of rice wine, mushrooms and soy sauce.

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2 tablespoons Golden Fiesta Canola Oil
  2. 2 tablespoons Garlic, minced
  3. 2 pieces Onions, chopped
  4. 1 kilo Beef ribs, cut into ½-inch thick cubes
  5. 6 cups Water
  6. 2 cups Rice wine
  7. ¼ cup Datu Puti Soy Sauce
  8. ½ cup Brown sugar
  9. 3 pieces Dried Chinese mushrooms, soaked in water
  10. 1 cup Carrots, cubed
  11. 1 piece Finger sili, sliced
  12. ½ teaspoon Fine salt
  13. ¼ teaspoon Ground black pepper
  14. 2 teaspoons Sesame seeds, toasted
  15. 1 scrambled Egg, cut into strips
  16. 2 tablespoons Spring onions, chopped

PREPARATION

  • 1 Sauté garlic and onions in Golden Fiesta Canola Oil.
  • 2 Add beef ribs, and brown on all sides.
  • 3 Pour water, rice wine, Datu Puti Soy Sauce, brown sugar and mushrooms. Cook beef in pressure cooker for 1 hour until beef is tender.
  • 4 Add carrots and finger sili. Cook until carrots soften.
  • 5 Season with fine salt and ground black pepper.
  • 6 Transfer to a serving bowl, and top with sesame seeds, egg strips and spring onions.
